Regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of rock music, Freddie Mercury was known for his flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range.

Bohemian Rhapsody was released as the lead single from Queen’s fourth album, A Night at the Opera in 1975. Written by Mercury, the song is a six-minute suite, notable for its lack of a refraining chorus and consisting of several sections: an intro, a ballad segment, an operatic passage, a hard rock part and a reflective coda. It is one of the few progressive rock songs of the 1970s to achieve widespread commercial success and appeal to a mainstream audience.

The band’s most famous live performance was undoubtedly at Live Aid in 1985 where Mercury’s vocal talent was at it’s highest as demonstrated by this clip from Bohemian Rhapsody of his isolated vocals all of 33 years later made possible using our flagship music separation software DeMIX Pro.

The clip has achieved over 1 million views on YouTube alone.
